SAE BAJA 2026 is an international collegiate competition where engineering students design, fabricate, and race a single-seat all-terrain vehicle while applying real-world engineering principles. The event evaluates teams through rigorous static and dynamic assessments focusing on design validation, cost optimization, sustainability, manufacturing excellence, and vehicle performance. DYPIU participated in this competition for the first time in 2026. In the static events, the team secured AIR 28 in the Preliminary Virtual Round (30.94/50) and achieved an impressive AIR 13 in Design with 72.23/100. The team also earned AIR 23 in Sales (29.21/50), AIR 22 in Manufacturing Excellence (30.94/50), AIR 14 in Cost (33.37/50), AIR 18 in Sustainability (27.50/50), and AIR 27 in CAE (6.47/50), achieving an overall static score of 172.63/275. In dynamic events, the vehicle demonstrated outstanding performance by securing AIR 3 in Acceleration with a time of 4.575 seconds (44.83/50). The team achieved AIR 4 in Maneuverability with 74.18 seconds (67.62/75) and AIR 7 in Suspension & Traction with 51.21 seconds (87.92/100). In the Sled Pull event, the team secured AIR 4 with a time of 15.05 seconds (48.32/50). During the Endurance race, the vehicle completed 21 laps, achieving AIR 6 with 363.64/400 points. The team secured an outstanding AIR 2 overall in Dynamic Events with a score of 248.68/275. Overall, the team achieved AIR 4 with a total score of 818.16/1050 plus 20 bonus points, marking a remarkable national-level achievement.
