The workshop aimed to build awareness and understanding among participants regarding the concept of Life Cycle Assessment and its significance in evaluating the environmental impacts of products, processes, and services across their entire life cycle. The session focused on promoting sustainable thinking and informed decision-making aligned with global environmental goals. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, creating an engaging and interactive learning environment. A total of 27 participants were awarded certificates of completion for successfully attending the workshop. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Naman Kumar, Scientist and Research Engineer at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune, who provided valuable insights into the principles, methodology, and practical applications of LCA. The session covered key stages of LCA, including goal and scope definition, inventory analysis, impact assessment, and interpretation. Real-world examples and case discussions helped participants gain a deeper understanding of how LCA can be applied across industries to enhance sustainability practices. The initiative was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of sustainable production systems and environmental responsibility.
