Program Structure

The Center will function through four interrelated verticals, each focusing on a key aspect of sustainability:


  • A. Research and Innovation
    • Interdisciplinary research on renewable energy, waste management, water security, sustainable urban development, and biodiversity conservation.
    • Establishment of Green Innovation Labs for research and student projects.
    • Publication of research papers, working reports, and an Annual Sustainability Report.

  • B. Education and Capacity Building
    • Development of certificate, diploma, and elective courses in sustainability and climate studies.
    • Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), student workshops, and webinars on environmental literacy.
    • Integration of sustainability into project-based learning and internships.

  • C. Campus Sustainability and Operations
    • Implementation of the DYPIU Green Campus Policy.
    • Waste segregation and recycling systems, energy-efficient infrastructure, water reuse, and biodiversity enhancement.
    • Annual Campus Green Audit and Carbon Footprint Assessment.

  • D. Community and Industry Engagement
    • Collaborations with industry and NGOs for sustainability research and CSR activities.
    • Community outreach through awareness campaigns and training for local schools.
    • Hosting national-level conferences, hackathons, and student competitions on sustainability.

  • Governance and Administration
    • The Center will function under the Office of the Dean (Academics) in close collaboration with the Dean (Research & Innovation) and Associate Director (Student Affairs).
